December 19-20

We left on Saturday, Dec 19 to make the trip to UT for Christmas. We left somewhere around 9 or 9:30 in the morning, and drove and drove and drove. We ended up stopping for the night at the Little America in Wyoming. It was freezing cold and it was really nice to stop and stretch out for the night. The kids thought it was fabulous.

We were about an hour away from arriving on Sunday, Dec. 20 when the car went kaput! We had had the transmission replaced several months before, and it suddenly just blew up! So I cried, hubby looked and looked, and I called my family. My dad sent my sister with the van, and he and my mom also came themselves. Wouldn't you know it--about 15 minutes before they arrived, it started up good as new! Anyway, my sister took some of the kids with her anyway, and my parents followed us back, just in case. We arrived safe and sound, FINALLY!

  2. Okay. It all worked out, and the transmission shop we took it to in UT and here couldn't find anything wrong. It is surmised that perhaps they overfilled the transmission fluid and that caused the problem. Who knows. . .
