March 2010

Well, Grandpa and Grandma have decided to allow Domestic Goddess to satisfy her lifelong dream and raise up some more chickens. They have an incubator in which they put eggs from their chickens. We then waited 21 days, and VOILA--baby chicks! Grandma and Grandpa were gracious enough to allow them to mature in their unused bathtub. After they started to attempt to fly out, home to our coop they came.

We are on a mission now to raise up some chicks for ourselves for eggs--Domestic Goddess plans to see the remainder to earn money. Domestic Goddess is just like a nervous mother with them. She doesn't want anyone to hold them, because she is afraid they will hurt them or crush them. Especially the Boy. She is very good to them and takes perfect care of them without ever being reminded. Which may be impacted by the fact that I was not too in to this whole chick venture in the beginning, so she doesn't want to make any work for me. Why didn't I think of this trick before?

Some pictures of the kids with the new chicks.
