Today was a busy day. Easter happened to fall this year on General Conference. We did not let our tradition of going to our good friend's for breakfast before Conference lapse. We had our traditional breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls, juice, sausage and biscuits, bacon, pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs. Then we all watched the first session of Conference together. I fell asleep--as usual. The kids and some of the adults had a great time playing Conference bingo with M & Ms. We were so pleasantly surprised to find that our friends had set up an egg hunt for the littler kids. They had a great time hunting eggs before breakfast!
Then we went home, and cooked food for our Easter dinner, and had another egg hunt. The Boy will find an egg, and then open it to see what is inside. It takes him forever to finish, because he has to inspect, and sometimes taste, the contents of every egg before he goes on to the next. It is a good thing he hasn't been at a community egg hunt. He would get nothing!
We had Easter dinner at Aunt and Uncle's in town. It was also one of their little girl's birthday, so we celebrated that as well. We had another Easter egg hunt after we ate a delicious dinner of ham, potatoes, carrots, asparagus, deviled eggs and green beans. We also had birthday cake and ice cream, and sugar cookies. We saved the traditional Strawberry dessert for after dessert time.
The kids enjoyed our Easter and came out with large bags full of candy, boxes of peeps, and 2 chocolate bunnies! Happy Easter everyone!
